Megan - Senior 2010 - pt. 1

I would like to introduce all of you to this wonderful senior, Megan, who also happens to be my niece= ) She lives in MO and we both have extremely busy schedules so this was the first opportunity for us to hook up. I know she has been approached by MANY photographers in her area (and who can blame them she is gorgeous inside and out) so I'm thrilled she let me have the honors! This is part 1 - the casual session. I wanted to push the limits and get funky. For those wondering about her eyes, they are naturally that blue. If you met her parents you would see where she gets them from.

Here you go Megan...

now we start getting a little funky...

and a little funkier with some fun lighting and flare!

sibling love

How lucky am I to photograph these beautiful kids? And, to get all three of them looking at my lens. Okay, they might be looking at mom or dad just over my shoulder but I call that a success!! Sunday was the perfect day for a little mini-session.

B & M - you done good! Here's your clan...

Wait, what is that I see? Is little G giving me a little grin? B/W or color? I can't decide = )

busybusybusy

That describes my day at a local preschool and all my days in general. October is a crazy month for me. Just know I'm trying to return emails and phone calls as quickly as possible as well as complete galleries, orders, greeting cards and sneak peeks = )

Back to these cutie patooties. I thoroughly enjoyed my morning with the kids. So many unique personalities and expressions. There are many, many images I love, it was hard to narrow down to just a few!

So adorable.

Hello handsome!

Darling siblings = )

I think we found a natural here!

Oh my, those curls, eyes and lashes - enough said!

Before the snow came...

and the chilly temperatures, I had the opportunity to photograph these handsome dudes. We had a fun time. The oldest is going to be Michael Jackson for Halloween. How cool is that! {T} was a MJ fan BEFORE he died so that makes him a true fan in my book = ) He whipped out some smooth moves and *bad* style for me!! His younger brother, {M} wins the award for Mr. Personality. He went through 20 different faces in 10 seconds flat. Now that might just be a record.

Here's just a sampling of what we got...

Meet the Riese Family

Hey, wait! That's us! I'm stepping out ofmy comfort zone from behind the lens (which is extremely painful for me) and showing my face along with my dearly loved family!

A HUGE thanks to Jen Hoevet, a photographer in the LaVista area who took the image below. Jen is oozing with creativity and her color processing is in the "to die for" category. We met just a few short weeks ago and with the exchange of some lengthy emails, quickly became friends. I'm delighted to have another photo buddy to talk shop, share ideas, take pics with and maybe even attend a seminar or two. Anyway, I think she got the short end of the deal as my little guy does NOT like the camera and I think I may be the least photogenic person I know!

As a photographer, I have so few images of me in them so when I saw this one it istantly warmed by heart. Now, how big should I order?!

Really, the watermark should be Jen Hoevet and Jill Riese but I didn't have Jen's watermark!

dumpster fun

So, anyone who knows me realizes I have an "anything goes" attitude. I'm up for usually anything. I have a love for nature settings, urban settings, and everything in between. I LOVE that this family chose their church. The mom and I have lunch ocassionally and I can tell you first hand what a strong faith she has. So, it seemed so fitting to the church be the location for the shoot. Good idea, mom! What I didn't know is it would have this AWESOME dumpster. I think they thought I might be half crazed when I suggested we take some pics in front of it!

Here's your sneak...

sugar and spice

and all that is nice, that is what this sweet little girl is made of. She is the youngest of 4 and today was her day. The spotlight (okay, lens) was all on her, nobody to have to share with. Mom even made a hair appointment for her. When I got there she was feeling pretty special and was ready to have her picture taken...lucky me!! She was a n-a-t-u-r-a-l!!

Meet A...
